Using coaching as a training approach in driving instruction has seen huge growth over the last few years.

We have created our own program, Driving Education Principles (DEP) that forms a complete model for approved driving instructors (ADI's) across Ireland to integrate into their own lesson planning.

What is the DEP program?

The Driving Education Principles (DEP) program is broken down over four key principles, which provides you with formulaic patterns to deliver out your responsibilities to student drivers. It also provides you with a better framework through which you can pattern your coaching skills.

If you align your coaching approach with this program as you guide your student drivers through all the levels outlined by the DEP program, then you can expect to produce young drivers who are more responsible, more self-aware and superior at reflecting on a near miss as soon as they pass their test. They will better grasp the lesson present in the experience and take necessary precautions to prevent the same thing from happening again.
